What this demo is, and isn't

What's real here

The gold price is fetched live, so the ASC leg genuinely revalues with the market between one run and the next. Every conversion is computed in whole minor units — no floating-point drift — and the 0.05% fee is calculated and declared before you press the button, charged on top of the amount sent so the recipient always receives the full converted sum. The ledger block is a real SHA-256 hash chained to the one before it. The base-33 check shown at each hop is the same verified conversion running across the rest of this site: every figure is converted to runes and back, and would report a failure if it did not return identical.

What's simulated

The card is not a real card and no card network is contacted; "card on file" is a stored demo record. KYC and AML always clear here, as they do on the institutional settlement page — this shows the sequence, not a real screening. The AED, USD and EUR rates are fixed illustrative constants; only the gold leg is genuinely live. The timings shown for each hop are the target figures from Meridian's own documentation, not measured network performance, and the multi-hub quorum is simulated. This is a single-node, in-browser proof of concept, not the production network.
